Presenting our board of directors
The Voice Found board of directors has certainly changed through the years to accommodate our rapid growth from a volunteer-run, non-profit with no funding to the thriving charitable organization it is today. At every stage, we have been fortunate to have the right mix of skills and expertise to govern and support our growth and on September 28th, 2021, we elected our board for the next two years.
Firstly, we want to thank the following board members who did not stand for re-election this year. Each has contributed many hours over the past 2 years and helped as we navigated changes to programs and services to accomodate the challenges presented by COVID-19. Our best wishes to Katie Dolan who is embracing her role as a new mother! Much gratitude to Tony Palermo who served as Secretary and is taking some time to enjoy many road trips, and Frank O’Driscoll who is embracing life on the west coast while maintaining his Newfoundland roots. We are grateful for you commitment and contributions to our growth.
Returning board members include; Stacey Kirkpatrick as chair, Peter Hamer who is now vice-chair, Pouya Safi as treasurer and directors Stephanie Izzard, Alison Pratt, and Stéphanie Montreuil.
We are delighted to introduce two board members who bring a wealth of expertise. Ed Mantler, RPN, MSA, CHE is the Vice-President of Programs and Priorities at the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Ed is a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, holds a Master of Science Administration degree, and is a Certified Health Executive who is dedicated to promoting mental health in Canada. Lori Stanley has over 20 years experience working in the field of child welfare. Lori has served as an advisor to Ministries and governments on standards, assessment tools and child deaths. As a Person Brain Master trainer, she trains other professionals in trauma informed care.
