The application process is comprised of the following:

1) Application form for peer supporter who will take the training.

2) List of references for peer supporter. (form below)

3) Declaration of Support from organization. (form below)

4) Interview with Voice Found Accredited Peer Support Mentor (scheduled once completed application submitted)

Declaration of Support

We ask that organizations will support those that have been selected to participate in the training, and that as required, they will work with Voice Found to ensure smooth implementation of the program if needed.

Required: All that is required from the leadership of the organization is a declaration of intent to support their staff and the implementation of Ethical Peer support in their organizations..

References

As a part of the application process, Voice Found will contact 2 references who can speak to the innate qualities and natural skills that may be indicative of suitability for peer support training.

We will contact the applicants references by email and ask them to comment on interpersonal demeanour and readiness to support others. Please note, these references are not required to know anything about peer support.

We will be asking about competencies, including demeanour, interpersonal skills, and outlook because evidence of these skills is required to participate and proceed through Ethical Peer Support Training.

Referees might include:

Individuals who have been in a supervisory or mentorship role
Individuals who have worked with the applicant in a paid or voluntary capacity

Please note: persons to whom the applicant may have provided peer support for in the past may not be used as a reference, nor can members of the applicants family.

Interview

All complete applications will be reviewed by Voice Found for acceptance into the Ethical Peer Support Training Program, and applicants will be invited to an interview.
