National Human Trafficking Awareness Day
Human Trafficking is a significant issue in Canada. The way to stop it is to learn about it, share what you learn with others, report it (1-800-900-1010) and support organizations on the front lines.
The statistics below are based on The Hope Found Project between late 2015 til March 31, 2020. This project is continuing and to date we have supported 236 people.
On February 16, 2021, the House of Commons unanimously adopted a motion to recognize February 22nd as National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The day commemorates February 22, 2007 when the House of Commons unanimously condemned human trafficking and modern slavery.
