Trauma Talks - Victims and Survivors of Crime Week

September 2023, we hosted our first ‘Trauma Talks’ and it was a resounding success. (pictures and recap here). Trauma Talks is a panel discussion that aids in understanding and supporting survivors of human trafficking, childhood sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation. We bring together different perspectives and make tough topics approachable. Most importantly, we give survivors a voice without being exploitive, and provide the audience with actionable steps towards prevention and resources for support.

On May 15th, 2024, as part of Victims and Survivors of Crime Week, we are hosting another Trauma Talks. This event will feature panelists with lived experience, therapists, and medical professionals who will discuss the mental, physical, and emotional impacts of the crime of childhood sexual abuse (CSA).

This eye-opening conversation will explore the how trauma from childhood sexual abuse manifests in adulthood, can rob a person of their potential, and result in chronic pain, addiction, depression, panic attacks, suicidal ideation, anger, PTSD, and more.

You’ll gain an understanding the reasons why this remains a crime of epidemic proportions, how to help survivors, and what you can do to prevent children and youth from becoming victims.

See below the bios for time, location and agenda. There is no cost to attend but you must register and get a ticket.
