Voice Found is a survivor-led national non-profit that educates individuals and organizations on how to identify, prevent, and respond to child sexual abuse and commercial sexual exploitation. Through the Hope Found Project, we provide support to persons in Eastern Ontario who have been sexually exploited. This includes those who have been trafficked or who wish to exit the sex trade.

We offer all volunteers an opportunity to put their skills, experience and talent to work in ways that are meaningful and make a significant impact in our community.
ALL roles (other than special event roles) will require that you undertake our ½ day specialized training delivered by Voice Found, attain a police records check (vulnerable sector screening required), adhere to our policies, procedures and maintain client confidentiality. Safety protocols have been developed and must be followed at all times.
The following training would be an asset for some of these roles:
- Non violent crisis intervention
- Red Cross first aid and CPR level C
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)

We have a number of events that take place throughout the year and YOU can help. Whether manning a booth, helping with logistics, setting up/tearing down after trade shows and events or pitching in to help plan the next big thing – your enthusiasm and time would be most appreciated. We would love to add your name to our list of active volunteers!
There are times when getting on a bus or into a taxi is just too overwhelming for someone suffering from trauma. We need drivers with their own vehicles who can work in pairs to take clients to appointments. A drive with someone who is trained to understand their mindset. (we provide the training)
Time commitment: These shifts will be during the day time only and we ask that you provide us with regular times/days that fit your schedule.
We operate with a dedicated team of volunteers. In this role, you will help keep our volunteers organized and ensure that all required shifts are covered appropriately and effectively. We want someone who will take ownership of this role and proactively engage volunteers. Don’t worry – you won’t be doing it all alone – staff will support you in this role.
The first couple of months in this role will include some additional duties as we launch services across Eastern Ontario.
Time Commitment: Once a week we will spend a quick hour (or less) together to discuss the known needs for the upcoming weekend and week. After that we anticipate no more regular check of email each day to react to changes, modify schedules. In total approximately 10-15 hours per week. This is a job that can easily be done from home most days.
We need our messages to get out to a lot of different types of people across Canada. We have all kinds of ‘stuff’ and no time to do it all. Yes, there is a marketing strategy with a whole lot of things to do. Love social media? Enjoy writing content? Have some Word Press skills? We are looking for a multi-talented go-getter who can help us get our message out. Time Commitment: Let us know what time you have available. A commitment of a few hours a week would be ideal.
HELP!! Are you super organized? Proactive? Able to prioritize and strive for excellence in customer service? Bilingual? We need a person (or two) to provide assistance to our team of staff and volunteers.
Time commitment: We have a need for someone (or two – we can split this job up) to jump in and help out 1 – 2 days a week. You can choose ½ days, work from home or in our office.
Support from someone who has lived experience is vital to the success of our work. Our clients can be challenging, they have issues with trust and they are working to overcome many obstacles. Only another person who has lived experience knows how it feels – and can sit with them in support and understanding.
We are looking for peer support volunteers who have been trafficked or have exited the sex trade. We are also looking for persons in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction as well as those who have experience with PTSD and trauma.
Time commitment: Together with your peer, you will establish boundaries that are mutually agreeable. The time you spend together is up to you and the needs of the person you are supporting. There is a requirement to check in with our Manager, Survivor Outreach once a week.
Are you looking to put your social services skills to work? This might just be the perfect opportunity for you. This role requires that you work in collaboration with the Manager, Survivor Outreach to effectively manage client needs assessments and paths to ongoing recovery.
Time commitment: We are flexible but would ask that you commit to at least ½ a day a week.
Prevention program facilitators voluntarily deliver the Stewards of Children workshop on behalf of Voice Found. This role requires that you take the facilitator training program. There is a cost and time commitment associated however subsidies may be available.
You must be comfortable approaching youth-serving organizations and encouraging training participation. For more details on this role take a look at our volunteer facilitator page.
NOTE- Volunteers must prepare and meet the following criteria:
- All applicants must be in possession of a current (sited and dated within six months) Volunteer Police Intervention Check which can be obtained through your local police department. Please ensure that the Vulnerable Sector box found on the back of your Police Intervention Check is checked off as yes prior to submitting your application form to your local police department.There is a cost associated with obtaining a Police Intervention Check. To qualify for the reduced rate provided to volunteers applicants can obtain a letter from us via email@example.com If you live outside the city limits please contact your local RCMP to obtain a background check. The Consent for Disclosure of Criminal Record Information. Check must also state the Vulnerable Sector check has been done.
